Frida Kahlo guitar Assemblage& State of Decay Polaroids

This is an older piece but one of my favorite assemblages still to date.
My oldest son reclaimed the thrown away guitar
proudly bringing it to me to "make art with".
He was about 8 at the time. (now 18)

My sons are so sweet~

My grandma has these beautiful peonies
and my sweet youngest son (14) picked me some.

It's been rainy and cool
which is always my favorite painting days

 so I'm working on
    Polaroid paintings.

Life is beautiful!

Breaking the Silence

I've been pouring myself into the depths of creativity
to explore the very intense issue
that has plagued the nations
with its shame
and ignorance
so much so that many don't want to talk about it
 let alone face it...
or maybe don't even know it exisits.

I am giving it a voice.

I am breaking the silence.

TOGETHER WE ARE BREAKING THE SILENCE.

What am I talking about?

If you live in the Kansas City/Grandview Mo area~
come to the exhibit that I'm curating
during the Truman Heritage Fesitival
Thursday, May 3 beginning at 6 p.m.
Friday, May 4 @ 6 p.m.
and Saturday, May 5 from, 10 a.m.-8p.m.
723 Main Street, Grandview, MO 64030

I will also be exhibiting with a host of other incredible fine artists
on a very provoking issue

:the Face of Infanticide
 {in the nations}

You won't leave the same as you came in!

harsh yet SO true {pride series}

We often think pride, is the OBVIOUS,
don't ever underestimate this nasty one
it is much SO more craftier than that..
it hides in the eyes of those
who ARE RIGHT.
and YOUR NOT.

it is the {in} of INJUSTICE.
it lurks among the subtle,
with the smirk,
that hovers among
the gossip
and judgement...
that often comes with
a tag
of let's pray for
so.N.so
as they themselves begin
the descent
the
tear
d
o
w
n
of what one {thinks} they know
all the while
lifting of
{oneself}
UNAWARE
of the exchange made
a hefty price paid to
a death
sentence
of
PRIDE.
